Tomatoes grow better under far red light

The study found that when tomatoes were treated with partial far red light instead of red/blue LED lamps, the yield of tomatoes did not change, but due to the higher refractive index and increased degree of bite (increased "bite"), the overall taste increased.

These preliminary results were obtained from the lighting test at the Vereijken nursery in Beek en Donk, The Netherlands.
